Veterinarian / Owner

Dr. David Pinkston

Dr. David Pinkston is a graduate of Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine. He opened up Ashland Animal Clinic in March of 1990; in September of 2007, the old clinic was torn down, and a newer, better, version came to be. On a personal note, Dr. Pinkston has been happily married to his high school sweetheart Kay, and has two grown children, Chris and Laura, and 3 grandchildren. Dr. Pinkston has 3 Dachshunds, Penny, Beau, and Sammi. He enjoys hunting, fishing, golf, and scuba diving…anything outdoors!

Dr. Kendra Ison

Dr. Kendra Ison joined our team in 2020. She attended Morehead State University and completed her undergraduate work in Pre-Vet. She graduated Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. You may also see Dr. Ison at one of our sister clinics, or previously at our Equine Medical Center where she practiced large animal medicine as well. She is an Elliott County, Kentucky native, married to her husband Adam, and they have one daughter. Dr. Ison has a German Shepherd named Doc, and 3 cats; Peppermint Patty, Jack, and Minnie. When she isn’t working, she enjoys beekeeping, gardening, painting, archery, and spending time with her family. Dr. Ison’s favorite thing about her job is there is something new and different everyday!

Dr. Sarah Hamblin

Dr. Sarah Hamblin graduated from Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. She is an Ohio native, and completed her undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University. You may also see Dr. Hamblin at one of our sister clinics, or at our Equine Medical center, as she practices large animal medicine as well! Dr. Hamblin is married to her husband Josh, and they have 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 5 horses. Thor, Ellie, and Mavis are their mixed breed dogs; Red and Yoda are their cats; Harley, Vegas, Cowboy, Sylvan, and Yugioh are their horses. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, spending time with her animals, video games, and time with family. She feels the most rewarding thing about her job is helping animals and their owners.

Dr. Lisa Williams

Dr. Williams, who is originally from West Virginia, graduated from Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture with a bachelor of Science in Large Animal Science. She then attended West Virginia Graduate School for Large Animal Repro Phys. She received her DVM from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Chris Pinkston

Dr. Chris Pinkston graduated from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine. Not only did he complete his undergraduate work at the University of Louisville, he also was a member of UofL’s Swimming and Diving team. If you ask him, he’ll tell you he knew from a very young age that he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a veterinarian. Chris met his wife Meagan, while working at the clinic in 2008, and they have one daughter. They have 3 dogs, Kirby, Shelby, and Alfie Mack; and 2 cats, Jambi and Littlefoot.

Dr. Hannah Finney

Dr. Hannah Finney joined our team in 2021. She attended WVU for her undergrad studies, class of 2017. She graduated Mississippi State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. She practices small and large animal medicine, and works at our other sister clinics as well. Dr. Finney is also a certified Fear Free Professional. She was sent to the American Veterinary Medical Association’s Veterinary Leadership Conference as the West Virginia Veterinary Medical Association’s “Emerging Leader”. Dr. Finney has 1 dog named Larry, 2 cats named Church and Link, a dove, 3 turtles, and a horse named Hwin. In her free time, Dr. Finney likes to roller skate, ride horses, hike, kayak, and garden with her husband Matthew. One of the things that Dr. Finney loves most about her job is being able to educate people on how to keep their fur babies happy!

Office Manager

Ashley Nash

Ashley joined our team 2013. She graduated from Marshall University in 2008 with a degree in advertising. Ashley started in reception at our clinic, becoming lead receptionist, and then stepped into the office manager role in 2020. Ashley can be found petting all the animals in the clinic, and loving them all like her own! She has 2 dogs, Bear and Maci-chu, and 3 cats named Sheebie, Mimi Sprinkle Winkles, and Star Kitty Pants. When Ashley isn’t at work she enjoys camping, traveling and exploring new places, riding horses, spending time with her family, shopping, and reading. Her favorite thing about working at AAC is helping the owners and our furry patients, and of course petting and loving on all the animals!

Veterinary Technicians

Kelsey Berry, Lead Technician

Kelsey started with us in 2009 while she was in high school. She attended Morehead State and returned back to our clinic in 2015. Kelsey is our lead technician and vital part of our daily operations. Kelsey is an essential part of our surgery team and training program with our staff. When Kelsey isn’t at work, she is usually making memories with her husband and little boy Branson. As a family they enjoy, trail riding, showing horses, camping, and spending time together. Kelsey has 3 dogs; Jessie a miniature Australian Shepherd, Pearl a Border Collie, and BB an Australian Cattle Dog. She also has 2 horses, June, a spotted Saddle Horse, and Little Joe, a Tennessee Walking Horse. Kelsey’s favorite thing about working at AAC is that each day brings new experiences and challenges, and of course the animals!

Bethany Breech

Bethany is a certified veterinary assistant from Animal Behavior College.She’s been in the veterinary field since March 2013 and have recently joined Ashland Animal Clinic in June of 2018. She has 2 dogs, Boomer and Gracie, and 3 cats, Tarzan, Morton, and Jerry. In her free time, you’ll find her spending time with her fur babies and family or out riding the side by side.

Jasmine Peterman

Jasmine started with us in 2020. She graduated from Vet Tech Institute at the International Business College. Jasmine truly has a passion for helping animals and client education. She a leader in our team, and the first to help out in any situation. She has a Black Lab named Lux, a Border Collie mix named Leelo, and a cat named Louie, who make up her family of fur-kids. When Jasmine isn’t at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and her sweet baby girl Charlee. Jasmine’s favorite thing about working at AAC is her coworkers and the friendships she has made!

Melanie McKinney

Melanie started with us in 2019. She has previous veterinary experience and is an essential part of our team. Melanie is part of our surgery team, assisting daily in a variety of procedures. She also enjoys lab work and our exotic animal patients. Melanie has 2 Shih Tzu’s named Mollie and Gus, a Boxer/Pitbull mix named Honey, a Pitbull named Bagel, and a collection of crested geckos. When Melanie isn’t at work, she enjoys kayaking, fishing, dirt track racing and spending time with friends and family. Melanie’s favorite things about working at AAC is getting to do what she loves, helping the animals, and her coworkers!

Anne Massard

Anne joined our team in 2019. She graduated from Vet Tech Institute at the International Business College. Anne is a vital part of our surgery team assisting doctors with various surgical procedures on a daily basis. Anne is an award-winning equestrian, in all aspects including agility showing and training. Anne has worked professionally in the horse industry for many years, and has returned to working in a clinic setting full-time. Anne has a corgi mix named Whiny, and collection of crested geckos. When Anne isn’t working with us at AAC, she is probably out riding horses or painting pieces of art including geckos. Her favorite thing about working at AAC is her coworkers!

Tara Gillum

Tara has been with us since 1996. She worked in our old building and moved with us to the new building. She has worked in the kennel, but has spent most of her years with us working as a veterinary technician. Anyone who knows her, knows her love for all things Elvis and her 2 grandkids. When she isn’t working at the clinic, Tara can often be found at a sporting event for her grandkids and spending time with her family. Tara has 3 Beagles; Mandy, Rosemary, and Pepper and a grand-dog named Lucy. Tara’s favorite thing about working at AAC is the relationships she had developed with our clients and their pets!

Taylor Hicks

Taylor started with our team in 2021. Taylor attended Morehead State and studied Equine Science. Taylor is an extremely hard worker and fits in with our team like she’s been here for years. We really enjoy having her as part of our staff! Taylor is an avid equestrian and has 2 horses of her own Lightning and Wrangler. When she’s not working at the clinic, she can be found trail riding with her horses, hiking, going to concerts, and spending time on her family farm with her family. Taylor’s favorite thing about working at AAC is the environment and her co-workers!

Cameron Jenkins

Cameron has been part of our team since 2021. Cameron graduated from Shawnee State in 2020 with a degree in Respiratory Therapy. Soon after graduating, Cameron realized her passion was working with animals. She is dedicated to helping our furry friends and has been an asset to our team! When Cameron isn’t working at AAC, she enjoys hiking, going to the gym, watching movies, and kayaking. She has a Lab named Lucy, and 3 cats whose names are Miller, Ella, and Millie. Her favorite thing about working at AAC is getting to do what she loves every single day!

Lindsey McClay

Lindsey joined our team in 2021. She graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 2016 with a degree in Anthropology. Lindsey has worked extensively with animals for many years. She worked for the Cincinnati Zoo working in animal behavior and interpretation. She also spent time in South Africa working with the Kalahari Meerkat Project, and at the Duke Lemur Center in Durham, North Carolina. Lindsey has done captive research presentations at local, regional, and national levels. Lindsey has 2 cats of her own, Reece and Gatsby. As well as 2 dogs, River and Skye. When she isn’t working at AAC, she loves kayaking, cooking and baking, and gardening. Her favorite part about working here at AAC is when our sick patients come back in and are healthy and recovered from their illness!

Stephanie Sang

Stephanie started with us in 2020. She graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Equine Studies and is currently enrolled in the Vet Tech program with Penn Foster. Stephanie started out as a receptionist here at the clinic and transitioned into her role as veterinary technician. Stephanie has 3 Miniature Pinschers; Annie, Buddy, and Dixie. She also has a German Shepherd named Koda and 3 bunnies. When Stephanie isn’t at work or studying, you can find her doing anything outdoors like hunting and hiking, or spending time with her son and the rest of her family. Stephanie’s favorite part of working at AAC is being able to help all the animals and their owners!

Hannah Sparks

Hannah started with us at AAC in 2019 in our kennel facility. She has recently made the move to being a veterinary technician. Hannah is an essential part of our technician and kennel departments, knowing what it takes to take care of our patients on all levels. Hannah has 2 dogs named Quincy and Stitch, and 2 cats named Willow and Ruby. When she isn’t working here at the clinic, she loves being outdoors! She likes hiking and kayaking, reading, and taking naps! Hannah’s favorite part of working at AAC is learning something new every day, and making an impact on animal’s lives!

Dakota Dick

Dakota joined our team in 2022. He has attended Concord University and plans on attending Marshall University to study Biology, with the hopes to attend vet school in the future. Dakota has 4 years of experience in the veterinary field from a previous clinic in southern WV. He has 3 cats, Meowdacris, Genevieve, and Julius. He also has 2 horse named Montana and Blue. When he isn’t working at the clinic, Dakota enjoys riding horses, hiking, and photography. Dakota’s favorite thing about working at AAC is the environment!

Receptionists

Sydney Fletcher, Lead Receptionist

Sydney started in 2018 at our sister clinic in Flatwoods, KY, Colonial Animal Clinic. She joined our team at AAC in 2020. Sydney stepped into our Lead Receptionist role in 2021. She attended EKU majoring in Art Education. Sydney has 2 cats, Stevie and Jojen, and 1 Chiweenie named Bean. When Sydney isn’t working at the clinic she enjoys planting, spending time her fiancée, playing video games, reading, and taking drives on beautiful days. Her favorite part of her job is helping the animals!

Sherri Daniels

Sherri started with us in 2019. You will often times find Sherri downstairs in our surgical reception area or on phones helping schedule appointments. You can always count on her to help wherever she is needed! Sherri has a Boxer named Cash who is such a good boy! She enjoys spending time with her kids and grandkids, and the rest of her family. Sherri’s favorite thing about working at AAC is getting to interact with all of the animals!

Rin Craner

Rin joined our team in 2020. Rin is always willing to help out and is a great asset to our team!  She is originally from Utah, but has settled in WV with her fiancée Chris. Rin has 2 dogs named Bennie, a Mini Aussie, and Oliver, a Blue Tick Beagle. She also has a cat named Waylon. When Rin isn’t working at the clinic, she enjoys being a house plant enthusiast, being outdoors hiking, fishing and hunting, or watching Netflix. Rin’s favorite things about working at AAC is all the excited and friendly patients she gets to meet and their humans, customer service and learning veterinary medicine!

Tammy Deerfield

Tammy has been with AAC since 2009. She has been a technician, and currently is part of our receptionist staff. You can often find her in our surgical reception area checking in and out surgical patients. Tammy is one of our most familiar faces here at AAC. Tammy has been married to her high school sweetheart Dave, and they have one grown daughter Amber, and one granddaughter. Tammy enjoys anything outdoors: camping, swimming, and boating. Her favorite thing though, is being a “grandbean” to her “sweetpea” granddaughter Ellady! Tammy has 2 dogs; Scruffy, a Maltese, and Louie a German Shepherd, and had 2 cats; Pippi and Cali Purri. Tammy’s favorite thing about working at AAC is the clients and their animals!

Hannah Burcroff

Hannah joined our team in 2021. She has always had a passion for animals and is currently studying Vet Tech through Penn Foster. Hannah has 4 cats; Kitty, Louie, Jaxon, and Ms. Girl, and one dog named Spike who is a Lab mix. She enjoys watching TV, spending time outdoors, hanging out with her brother, and traveling- her favorite place is Daytona Beach, Florida. Hannah’s favorite part of working at AAC is getting to see all the cute and animals and saving lives!

Emily Wilburn

Emily started with us in 2021. She can be found in greeting clients and patients our surgical reception area, or upstairs in our main lobby. Emily is currently studying medical coding at ACTC. She has a Labradoodle named Copper that keeps her busy, and is a really good boy! In her free time, Emily likes dirt track racing, spending time with family, and camping. Emily’s favorite thing about working at AAC is her coworkers and seeing the impact we make on animal’s lives!

Sydnie Gallion

Sydnie joined our team in 2022. Sydnie has been an awesome addition to our team! She is an Ohio native and graduate from Green High School in Franklin Furnace. She has a Bassett Hound named Dolly, who is super sweet! When she isn’t working here at the clinic, she is usually taking care of Dolly, and spending time with her boyfriend and her family. Sydnie’s favorite part of working at AAC is getting to interact with all the animals every day!

Kaylee Pitsenbarger

Kaylee started with us in 2021. She is an essential part of our kennel facility making sure all boarded animals are taken care of while they are here. Kaylee has 1 cat named Boo. When she isn’t working at AAC, she enjoys reading and writing short stories. Kaylee’s favorite thing about working at AAC is seeing all the animals’ happy faces in the mornings because they are ready for cuddles and breakfast!

Cassidy Bianco

Cassidy joined our team in 2021. She is a great team member and is always ready to jump in and help anyway she can! Cassidy is currently enrolled in the Vet Tech program through Penn Foster. She has 4 dogs; Duke, Minnie, Harley, and Athena, and 1 cat named Toro. When Cassidy isn’t working at the clinic or studying, she enjoys reading, and taking her dogs to the park for walks. Cassidy’s favorite part of working at AAC is being around all the animals everyday and getting to interact with them!

Leah Grayson

Leah joined our team in 2021, while she was attending high school. She is currently preparing to go to Morehead State University to study Pre-Vet. When Leah isn’t working at the clinic or getting ready for college, she likes hunting, fishing, and spending time with her family. She has 2 Beagles; Lou Lou and Spot, and 1 cat named Doodle. Leah’s favorite thing about working at AAC, is getting to play and take care of all the animals!
